SONNTAGSPOST | I'll be drifting then.

Irgendwohin, Hauptsache weiter voran.

Denn was ist so schlimm daran, zu treiben?

I’m drifting. I’m drifting without any goal, lying on my back, below me endless depths, first dark blue, but I know it will get deep black, at the bottom. The sun on my lids, warm. I put out my hands, I’m drifting further. Without a goal, without an incentive. The ocean, the stream pulls my body, wherever, and I don’t mind, where I’ll open my eyes again.

As I was fifteen, I knew for sure, what I want from life. I had my purposes, my dreams and my wishes, and I always kept them in sight. My way was predetermined, and I walked my way, no matter what other people thought about it. I had clear perceptions, how the next years will be.

But what to do, if your plans aren’t far enough thought? Time feels like it stopped, life feels so stuck. My way is in front of me, there aren’t any obstacles, nothing which could hinder me. Nothing could halt me from walking further but I’m paralysed, unable to make one more step.

My way is ahead, but still it’s like I’m standing in front of a glazen wall, mirroring. I only can see the past, and future is so near and at the same moment unreachable.

Everybody seems to get shit done, while I’m lying on the back, let the sun shine on my face and turn my back on the way I should walk. To admit, having no aim, without getting panicked, without feeling inferior.

Who says, that it’s better to plan one’s life 24/7?
Who says, that it’s better to know what you’re wanting from life, always?
Who says, that you aren’t allowed to drift?

I don’t know what I want from life, and the thing with my life planning… Senseless, it always comes differently that you planned it. I’m drifting further, I’m staying on my back and letting the sea carry me to nowhere in the here and now. Somewhere, essential further ahead.

Because what’s so bad about drifting?
